WEDDING ADVENTURE

Our Story

The first time we met, we were set up to go on a blind date. Nicole was described to me as amazing, fun, family oriented, god loving and beautiful.

I thought "Sold! When can I meet her?"

Our mutual friend gave me her number so, before our first date we decided to get to know each other a little bit more. Getting to know her helped me plan a hike for our first date because I learned that she has a sincere love for nature. I planned a hike to Devils Den in Weston, CT.

The day of our hike (and first date) it was raining out. I asked her if she wanted to change the plans and she said “no, we won’t melt”! Her reaction was different than I had expected, and I was excited to spend the rainy day with her on a hike.

I pulled up to her house anxiously awaiting the moment I would see her. I was stunned. Her eyes were out of control gorgeous and I could barely get any words out. Her smile and energy were electrifying, and I couldn’t wait to spend the entire day together. It was like I had already known she was the one for me.

For what it’s worth, she probably knew I was the one as well when I had a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie sitting on the driver’s seat!! However, she has not denied or confirmed this so it’s really just my theory:)

We arrived at Devils Den and ended up getting lost for hours on the hike, in the pouring rain, but it was something special. We had so much in common; our love for our families, traveling, and that we were major foodies.

After the hike, we were starving so we went out to cure our hunger (we are major foodies, remember?) and when Nicole ordered a chicken parm with fries I was even more convinced she was the one! She crushed it!

After that first date I went home and called my father and told him that I think I just met “the one”. He told me to slow down and relax. He joked that I should probably go on a second date before I propose to her. Great advice from my wise best man!

Ever since our first conversation, there has not been a single day we haven’t spoken. We are inseparable and our lives align perfectly.

I know this because I asked Nicole “If you could do anything at all, what would it be?”

Her answer was, and always will be, “travel the world!”. My answer was, and always will be,” I am down, where do you want to go next?”.

We planned a trip to Big Sur, and I knew that would be the perfect place to propose. It was a great representation of where we started, on our first hike. And how exciting and full of travel our life would continue to be.

I had purchased the engagement ring that reminded me of how much beauty Nicole had brought into my life and how simple being with her has felt. I could not wait to put the ring on her finger and to claim a life together, forever.

So I got down on one knee, I told her “I knew I was going to be doing this from the very first moment we met”.

 Obviously, she said yes:)

Nicole and I couldn’t be happier to have you with us on our special day.
